Razer’s HyperFlux V2 remains in the company’s current mouse-mat range, with hard and cloth surfaces and a prominent compatibility section showing six mice. However, the current HyperFlux V2 product page lists only five in its FAQ, leaving buyers of the newly displayed Naga V3 Pro with an official documentation conflict.

This is an update to an existing product, not a new launch. The June 3, 2025 launch announcement introduced continuous charging during mouse use and named four compatible models; the current catalog adds two more in its main lineup, even though one of those additions has not reached the FAQ.

The compatibility list has expanded unevenly

The four launch models were the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K, Basilisk V3 Pro, Cobra Pro and Naga V2 Pro. The current main compatibility section also includes the Cobra HyperSpeed and labels the Naga V3 Pro as a new option, producing this six-model lineup:

  • Razer Basilisk V3 Pro
  • Razer Cobra Pro
  • Razer Cobra HyperSpeed
  • Razer Naga V2 Pro

The FAQ farther down the page omits the Naga V3 Pro but retains the other five models. The likely explanation is that the product showcase was revised before the FAQ, although that is an inference from the page rather than an explanation from Razer.

The discrepancy matters because HyperFlux V2 is not a universal wireless charger. A mouse must accept the dedicated HyperFlux V2 puck supplied with the mat, and the charging puck made for the Razer Mouse Dock Pro is not interchangeable. Owners considering the Naga V3 Pro should therefore confirm the applicable firmware and regional product information before purchase.

The surface status is less ambiguous than it was at launch. Hard and cloth editions are now presented as current choices: the hard version is intended for quicker gliding, while the cloth version supplies more resistance and stopping control. The charging mechanism and supported-device restriction apply to both.

How the charging system changes the desk setup

The mat generates the power-transfer field, while its dedicated puck occupies the compatible mouse’s underside compartment. With the puck installed, placing the mouse on the powered mat pairs it with the built-in receiver and allows charging to continue while the mouse moves.

This removes the recurring charging cable or dock from the mouse, but the mat itself is wired. It must connect directly to a computer by USB Type-C or Type-A, with Type-C identified as the preferred connection for charging performance. The result is fewer device connections on the desk, not a completely cable-free system.

The integrated HyperSpeed receiver can carry the mouse connection and a supported Razer keyboard connection through the mat. Only the mouse receives power: the keyboard uses the mat for wireless data, and phones or other Qi-compatible devices cannot charge on it.

Synapse provides pairing controls and lets the user set a preferred charging ceiling instead of keeping the mouse continuously full. The mat’s LED changes color with the approximate battery level. Firmware for both the mat and mouse should be current before pairing, particularly when the mouse was added after the original launch list.

Independent testing confirms the convenience—and the compromises

An October 2025 WIRED review found that continuous charging worked with tested Basilisk and Cobra mice, used an 80% charging limit, and described the hard surface as comfortable. It also recorded occasional warmth from the charging element, a nonreplaceable playing surface, restricted mouse support and no access to an 8,000 Hz polling mode through the mat’s receiver.

The polling restriction separates two features that are easy to conflate. HyperFlux V2 can replace the ordinary wireless receiver for convenience, but it does not reproduce every capability of a dedicated HyperPolling dongle. Buyers who selected a mouse specifically for its highest available report rate must weigh that limitation separately from continuous charging.

The fixed playing surface creates a different long-term trade-off. Neither the hard nor cloth layer is presented as a replaceable module, so wear or damage affects the entire charging system rather than an inexpensive detachable pad. Surface preference consequently has implications beyond feel alone.

Metal desks are a substantive compatibility concern

The power-transfer method also limits where the mat should be used. Metal surfaces and nearby objects containing magnetic coils can capture magnetic flux, interfere with operation and potentially contribute to overheating. NFC cards and loose metallic objects should therefore stay away from the charging area.

This constraint cannot be corrected through a mouse profile or software setting. A buyer with a metal desk should verify that the intended placement complies with the product requirements rather than assume that another thin desk mat will provide sufficient isolation.

Who benefits from the system

HyperFlux V2 solves a narrow but genuine inconvenience: a supported mouse can remain charged without being returned to a dock or temporarily connected by cable. The strongest case is for someone who already prefers one of the compatible mice, spends long periods at the computer and values an integrated receiver more than freedom to choose any mouse pad.

It is a weaker reason to select a mouse in the first place. The system ties together the mouse model, proprietary puck, receiver and playing surface, whereas an ordinary wireless mouse and mat can be replaced independently. Mouse shape, controls and performance requirements should come first; continuous charging is useful only after those needs align with the supported list.

The current catalog represents meaningful progress from four launch mice to six displayed models. Until the five-model FAQ is reconciled with the main lineup, the Naga V3 Pro remains the one entry that warrants an extra compatibility check before purchase.
