Sync Just Added Real Dubbing Mode to Sync-3 – Lipsync + Translation in One Click

Sync.so has rolled out a brand-new dubbing feature for its recently launched Sync-3 lipsync model. The update turns the tool from “just lipsync” into a full video localization pipeline: upload any video, translate the audio to dozens of languages, and get back the same clip with natural-sounding dubbed voice and convincing lip movements.

How It Works (Super Simple)

1. Upload your video.
2. Hit Detach to strip out the original audio track.
3. Choose target language and let the system generate the translated script.
4. Listen to the preview (voice cloned from the original speaker).
5. If you like it — generate the final dubbed video.

Everything happens inside the same interface. No need to export/import between tools.

Quality Check

Sync Just Added Real Dubbing Mode to Sync-3 – Lipsync + Translation in One ClickLipsync is excellent in most cases — Sync-3 handles mouth movements cleanly and feels very natural. The only noticeable issues appear with heavy occlusions (tree branches, leaves, hands in front of face, etc.). In one example with a person standing far from the camera behind foliage, there was a slight desync, but that’s expected given the distance and visual noise.

Voice cloning is the more variable part. You can clone the same voice twice from the exact same source clip and get two noticeably different results — one closer to the original timbre, the other a bit off. It’s a bit of a lottery, but you can usually get a solid take within a couple of attempts.

Overall verdict: perfect for light-to-medium dubbing — YouTube explainers, faceless channels, AI-generated videos, or quick international versions of content. Not yet cinema-grade for dramatic close-ups, but more than good enough for 90 % of practical use cases.

Free Tier & Limits

Important Heads-Up: ElevenLabs Under the Hood

Here’s the transparency note Sync doesn’t shout about:

  • Lipsync = powered by Sync’s own Sync-3 model (you choose which variant).
  • Voice dubbing / translation = handled entirely by ElevenLabs.

A recent video highlighted that a large percentage of YouTube channels hit with “repetitive content” strikes in the last few months were using ElevenLabs voices for narration or dubbing.

The platform’s algorithm seems to flag highly consistent synthetic voices across many videos. So if you’re planning to scale a channel with this workflow — keep it varied or mix in some original audio.

If you’ve been looking for an easy, one-stop way to localize short videos without hiring voice actors or spending hours in editing software, Sync’s new dubbing mode is worth the three free tries. It’s not perfect, but it’s fast, surprisingly good, and finally makes proper multilingual video feel accessible.
