Jennifer Lopez stars in 'Unstoppable' (Amazon MGM Studios)
While on a call with Matt Damon and Cillian Murphy to promote "Small Things Like These," Ben Affleck was asked about the upcoming biographical sports drama "Unstoppable." Affleck and Damon served as producers for "Unstoppable," which features a cast including Jharrel Jerome, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Don Cheadle, and Jennifer Lopez.
Affleck described "Unstoppable" as 'very different' from "Small Things Like These" but noted that both films are 'similarly rooted in the passion of really talented artists.' He elaborated, saying, "And Billy Goldenberg and Jennifer and you know Don Cheadle and Jharrel and Bobby Cannavale - all of whom were really passionate about this film and then got to know Anthony and Judy and the relationship with them and the passion they had to bring this story to life."
"Again, it kind of speaks to a certain kind of thing I guess we're drawn to which is, we really believe in the power of storytelling when the people involved in it are deeply, emotionally connected to the story."
When focusing specifically on his ex-partner's performance in the movie, Affleck commented, "Jennifer is spectacular."
Small Things Like These is currently showing in movie theaters and Unstoppable is set for release on Amazon Prime Video on January 16.
