Amazon Opens 50,000 Brand Campaigns—but Creator Connections Is Phased

Amazon launched Creator Connections in India on September 8, 2026, opening a campaign marketplace supplied by more than 50,000 brands—but not to every creator at once. Moneycontrol’s September 8 report says the first group comprises about 5,000 creators, with eligible clicks paid through a cost-per-click model alongside existing affiliate commissions.

The launch is a phased expansion, not universal access to 50,000 campaigns for each account. Indian Television’s launch account identifies India as the program’s first market outside the US, places the initial cohort at roughly 5,000 of Amazon’s most engaged creators and says the wider Indian creator ecosystem has about 165,000 members.

Eligibility and rollout access are separate gates

Phased Amazon Creator Connections access gives one eligible Indian creator campaign entry while another account remains outside the initial cohort.

Creator Connections is being offered to eligible creators inside Amazon’s existing creator ecosystem. The published launch details do not provide an open application route, a complete India-specific selection rubric or a timetable showing when each later cohort will receive access.

That creates three distinct gates between membership and a payable campaign:

  • Creator-program eligibility: belonging to Amazon’s broader creator ecosystem is the starting pool, not confirmation of admission to Creator Connections.
  • Rollout access: the initial cohort covers only about 5,000 people from a community reported at roughly 165,000. An otherwise eligible account may therefore lack the feature during the phased release.
  • Campaign availability: admission exposes an account to relevant opportunities, not every participating brand or every campaign in the marketplace.

The headline number describes the brand side of the marketplace. It does not establish that one creator will see 50,000 live offers, that every brand will run a suitable campaign at the same time or that joining a visible campaign will produce income.

Discovery comes before measurable activity

An eligible creator discovers and joins an Amazon Creator Connections campaign before any performance income is generated.

Inside the program, creators can browse or receive relevant campaign opportunities, decide whether to participate and promote eligible products using tagged affiliate links. Brands define the products, campaign period, compensation terms and available budget; creators retain the choice to opt in.

The resulting sequence is campaign discovery, opt-in, content distribution, tracked activity and payment qualification. Each stage narrows the headline opportunity: a campaign can be visible but irrelevant, an affiliate link can receive no eligible clicks, and recorded engagement can fail to produce an attributed qualifying purchase.

Amazon’s seller-facing Creator Connections documentation describes brands configuring eligible products, commission rates, campaign dates and budgets, with reporting for clicks, orders and sales and a 24-hour purchase-attribution window after a creator-link click. Those published seller conditions concern Amazon’s established marketplace service and should not be treated as a substitute for India-specific creator eligibility or for the terms displayed in an Indian creator’s account.

The earnings worksheet has two possible layers

Amazon Creator Connections results separate eligible clicks, attributed sales, affiliate commission and additional campaign earnings.

The Indian launch is performance-led, so campaign discovery itself is not compensation. A creator needs to distinguish the event being measured from the payment layer attached to it:

  • Campaign discovery: a recommendation or listing establishes only that an opportunity can be considered.
  • Eligible click payment: India launch reporting describes cost-per-click earnings. A raw view or an activity rejected under campaign rules is not necessarily payable.
  • Standard affiliate commission: a qualifying purchase through a tagged link may earn the applicable Amazon Associates or Influencer commission.
  • Additional campaign commission: where the campaign offers one, an attributed qualifying sale can generate a further commission above standard affiliate earnings.
  • Attribution and validation: the purchase, product, seller, timing and traffic must satisfy the applicable tracking and campaign conditions.

This produces two possible earning layers: campaign compensation and the creator’s existing affiliate income. The campaign layer may reward an eligible click, a qualifying conversion or another performance event specified in the offer; the affiliate layer depends on a qualifying purchase. Neither layer can be calculated from the number of participating brands.

Consider a clearly hypothetical campaign that pays for eligible clicks and also offers an additional sales commission. Clicks accepted under its rules could produce campaign income even if no purchase follows, while the sales-related commissions would remain zero. If a purchase is attributed and qualifies, standard affiliate income and the additional campaign commission could both apply, subject to the displayed rate, product list, campaign period and budget.

Scale does not guarantee inventory or revenue

The 50,000-brand pool increases the potential supply of campaigns inside Amazon’s creator workflow, but three uncertainties remain at account level: when access arrives, which offers become visible and which tracked events qualify for payment. Performance-based compensation also shifts the commercial risk toward outcomes; publishing content or joining a campaign does not create a guaranteed fee.

The phased structure allows Amazon to compare creator earnings and advertiser returns before widening availability. It also means two creators in the same broader program may legitimately see different access or campaign inventory during the rollout.

For now, the confirmed position is that Creator Connections launched in India on September 8 with more than 50,000 participating brands and an initial cohort of about 5,000 creators, followed by phased expansion across a community reported at roughly 165,000. The launch did not include a public schedule for later cohorts, a complete India-specific admission checklist or an earnings forecast; actual access and compensation remain dependent on rollout status and the terms of each available campaign.
