Chinese automaker BYD has unveiled the Yangwang U9 Track Edition, an electric supercar that has claimed the title of the world’s fastest electric vehicle with a record-breaking top speed of 472.4 km/h. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by the Rimac Nevera, which boasted 1,989 horsepower, with the U9 Track Edition delivering an astonishing 2,960 horsepower.

The standard version of the U9, while less extreme, still impresses with 1,287 horsepower and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 2.36 seconds. The Track Edition takes performance to another level with a four-motor powertrain, each motor generating 744 horsepower. This setup provides an exceptional power-to-weight ratio, making it a standout in the electric vehicle (EV) market.
