Samsung Refrigerators to Recognize Family Members by Voice

Samsung is introducing a groundbreaking feature for its smart refrigerators, enabling voice recognition to identify individual family members.

This new functionality, integrated into the Bespoke AI refrigerators with Family Hub, allows the appliance to provide personalized access to information on its display based on the speaker’s voice. Starting with 2025 models, the update is set to roll out to other devices in the future.

The voice identification system, powered by Samsung’s Bixby assistant, can display tailored content such as personal calendars, photo galleries, or even trigger an alarm on a user’s smartphone to help locate it.

This hands-free capability enhances convenience, allowing family members to access their specific data with simple voice commands.

The update also benefits individuals with visual impairments, as the refrigerator’s screen automatically adjusts to match accessibility settings—such as color inversion or grayscale — synced from the user’s smartphone. This adaptive feature ensures a more inclusive experience for all users.

Available initially for Samsung Bespoke AI refrigerators with Family Hub from the 2025 lineup, the company plans to expand this technology to additional models later this year. This innovation marks another step forward in Samsung’s mission to create smarter, more personalized home appliances.
