How to Become a Twitch Affiliate Under the New 25-Follower Requirements

To become a Twitch Affiliate, you must reach 25 followers, stream for at least four total hours on four different days, and record at least three average viewers on four stream days within the relevant 30-day period. The current Twitch Affiliate criteria confirm these thresholds, replacing the former advice about 50 followers, eight hours and seven broadcast days.
Completing the four achievements makes your channel eligible for an Affiliate invitation; it does not finish enrollment or immediately trigger a cash payment. Twitch’s global monetization update separates access to tools such as Bits and subscriptions from payout eligibility: you still need Affiliate or Partner status to receive cash, followed by security, tax and payout onboarding.
The four current Affiliate requirements
Path to Affiliate has four conditions, and all must be complete together:
- 25 followers on the channel.
- Four total hours streamed during the qualifying period.
- Four different stream days during that period.
- At least three average viewers on four different stream days within the last 30 days.
The follower condition concerns your channel’s displayed total; it does not mean you must gain all 25 followers during one month. The activity and viewer achievements depend on recent broadcasts, so they can cease to overlap when an older qualifying stream leaves the 30-day period.
Older checklists commonly cite 50 followers, eight streamed hours, seven broadcast days and a general average of three viewers. Those figures belong to the previous system. A date-stamped independent guide also identifies the 50-follower and seven-day advice as obsolete, but the Creator Dashboard remains the authority for your individual channel.
How the 30-day qualification period works

Treat the period as a moving window, not a named calendar month. Each day brings new activity into the calculation and moves sufficiently old broadcasts out, which means your four hours, four distinct dates and four qualifying viewer days must be complete within the same period.
As a conditional example, suppose you stream on days 1, 8, 15 and 22. Each session lasts at least one hour and reaches three or more average viewers. On day 22, the activity and viewer conditions are complete; if the channel also has 25 followers, it can satisfy all four requirements together.
If another condition remains incomplete until the earliest qualifying broadcast leaves the window, the dashboard may no longer show every achievement as complete. Build some margin into your plan instead of relying on one stream that is about to expire.
Creator Dashboard → Analytics → Achievements is the final reference for eligibility. A personal spreadsheet can help you anticipate expiration dates, but it cannot reproduce platform processing or replace the Path to Affiliate result.
What qualifies as a viewer day

The viewer condition is based on four individual stream days that each reach at least three average viewers. It is not a requirement to maintain an average of three across every broadcast in the period, and days below three do not cancel days that qualified.
In a conditional eight-day example, suppose four days display averages of 3.0, 3.4, 4.1 and 3.2, while the remaining days are below three. The channel has four qualifying viewer days, provided those successful dates remain within the applicable period.
A displayed result of 2.9 should not be manually rounded to 3.0. Peak viewers, unique viewers, total views and chat participation are different measurements, so do not substitute them for the average-viewer figure used by the achievement.
Because the requirement specifies different days, do not plan two sessions on one date as two qualifying dates. If you need another day, schedule a broadcast on a separate date and check how the achievement updates after the platform processes it.
Build a rolling tracker that mirrors the dashboard

Create one row for every broadcast so you can see both progress and upcoming expirations. Record only information that helps you make the next scheduling decision:
- Stream date.
- Duration in hours and minutes.
- Average viewers reported after processing.
- Whether the date reached at least three average viewers.
- Follower total after the stream.
- The date when the broadcast leaves your planning window.
- Achievement status: pending, processed or counted.
Above the log, maintain four summary cells: current followers, streamed hours within the window, distinct stream dates within the window and qualifying viewer days within the window. Highlight the earliest qualifying date so you know how long the current combination remains viable.
Your tracker should distinguish reported figures from estimates. Mark a stream as pending immediately after it ends, copy the processed average when it appears, and then reconcile the row with Path to Affiliate. Achievement data can require 24–48 hours to synchronize, so an immediate discrepancy does not necessarily indicate an error.
A simple formula for the expiration column is the stream date plus 30 days. Use it as a planning reminder rather than a prediction of the exact processing cutoff, since the dashboard—not your spreadsheet—determines whether an achievement has counted.
Plan for qualifying dates, not just four hours
Four one-hour broadcasts can satisfy the minimum time and date requirements, but that schedule leaves no recovery room if one day falls below three average viewers. A more resilient plan includes one or two additional dates before the first successful stream is due to leave the window.
- Choose a repeatable stream format with a premise viewers can understand immediately.
- Schedule four core dates when your likely audience can realistically attend.
- Place one or two backup dates before the earliest core date expires.
- Start the promised activity promptly instead of spending the opening on avoidable setup.
- After each stream is processed, record its duration, average viewers, category and start time.
Once you have four streamed hours, extending a weak broadcast does not substitute for a missing viewer day. If three dates qualify and the fourth does not, another distinct date with the required average is the relevant target.
Use clips, a visible schedule and accurate announcements to direct interested viewers to a specific broadcast. Avoid automated viewers, follower exchanges and coordinated artificial engagement: manipulated activity can put the account at risk and does not create a dependable audience.
Creator-tool access is not cash eligibility
Eligible streamers can onboard through the Creator Dashboard for Bits, subscriptions, emotes, badges and Channel Points without first becoming Affiliates. Access to those controls therefore does not prove that your channel has Affiliate status.
Cash withdrawal remains a separate gate. A streamer must hold Affiliate or Partner status before receiving a payout, while the channel must accrue at least $50 for most payout methods or $100 for wire transfer before a payout can be initialized.
Spendable Balance was introduced as a US-only option, with broader availability planned. Check the options currently displayed in your own dashboard rather than assuming every balance feature is available in every country.
This distinction matters when reviewing your progress. Seeing subscription or Bits controls means the tools are available to your account; an Affiliate invitation and completed onboarding determine whether earned revenue can move toward a cash payout.
Complete Affiliate onboarding

After all four achievements are complete, an invitation should appear by email and in the Creator Dashboard. The expected window is generally 24–48 hours after the final requirement, although achievement synchronization can delay what you see.
Before starting the application, prepare:
- Two-factor authentication on the Twitch account.
- Your legal name and address as they appear in official and financial records.
- The tax information applicable to your country and circumstances.
- A supported payout method with matching account details.
- Access to the email address associated with the channel.
Review the Monetized Streamer Agreement, complete the requested tax forms and check the payout profile for mismatched names, addresses or countries. Each eligible channel needs its own onboarding process, even if you operate more than one channel.
Applicants who are over 13 but under 18 can apply, but a parent or guardian must agree to the Monetized Streamer Agreement. Local legal and tax rules may create additional obligations, so minors and international applicants should not treat the platform workflow as a substitute for advice applicable in their jurisdiction.
Completing Path to Affiliate is an eligibility milestone rather than automatic completion of every monetization step. The account must finish onboarding and remain compliant with the applicable platform policies.
When Path to Affiliate appears incorrect
Begin by comparing the same measurement period. General channel analytics may show broader totals than the recent activity used by Achievements, and the follower, duration and viewer figures may finish processing at different times.
- Allow 24–48 hours after the final qualifying broadcast.
- Open Analytics → Achievements and inspect all four Path to Affiliate indicators.
- Compare the processed stream dates with your rolling tracker.
- Check whether an earlier qualifying date has left the 30-day period.
- Confirm that the viewer condition covers four distinct dates.
- Check your email, spam folder and account notifications for the invitation.
- If progress remains missing after synchronization, save the relevant dates and analytics before contacting support.
Choose the corrective action that matches the missing achievement. A new qualifying date can replace an expired viewer day, while a longer stream can address a duration shortfall; extra hours on the same date cannot create another distinct stream day.
Do not repeatedly change your schedule while data is still pending. First separate a processing delay from a genuine shortfall, then act on the specific metric that remains incomplete.
Your next action
Open Path to Affiliate and copy its four current values into a rolling tracker. Identify the unfinished condition, schedule the next broadcast around that constraint and make sure your already qualifying activity will remain within the window long enough for the result to process.
When every achievement is complete, wait for synchronization and proceed through 2FA, agreement, tax and payout setup. Treat access to Bits or subscription controls as tool availability—not confirmation that Affiliate enrollment or cash eligibility is complete.
