Joe Jonas reportedly decided to file for divorce from Sophie Turner after overhearing some harsh comments she made, captured on their doorbell camera.
The couple, who announced their separation in September of the previous year via a joint Instagram post, described their parting as "amicable" after four years of marriage.
They first met in October 2016 through Instagram, and married three years later in a Las Vegas wedding chapel.
A year after their wedding, Sophie Turner, known for her role in "Game of Thrones," and Joe Jonas welcomed their first child, daughter Willa, followed by their second daughter, Delphine, in 2022.
However, only months after Delphine's birth, Joe Jonas filed for divorce from Turner.
According to reports, the decision was influenced by a conversation recorded on a digital doorbell, where Turner allegedly made "some not-so-nice" remarks about Jonas to a friend, as per an unnamed source cited by US Weekly.

"It wasn't anything more than that, but that was the final straw," claimed a source regarding the doorbell footage incident that led to Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's split.
"Nobody thought things would get this nasty between Joe and Sophie. Friends are hopeful they can be mature for the sake of the kids, but neither one is going to give in to the other. This could go on for a very long time."
The exact words Sophie Turner allegedly spoke on the ring camera remain undisclosed.
After the couple's joint statement announcing their separation, Joe Jonas appeared at the Los Angeles Dodger Stadium with his brothers, where he acknowledged having gone through a "tough week."
He also stated, "I just wanna say, look, if you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it. OK? Thank you everyone for your love and support. Me and my family love you guys."
On September 21, Turner took legal action against Jonas, filing a lawsuit for the 'wrongful retention' of their daughters. According to People, the lawsuit was seeking "the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained." Court documents revealed that Jonas had "possession of the children's passports" and was "refusing to return the passports to the mother."

It was reported that Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner had agreed in December 2022 to make England their "forever home," but their marriage ended "very suddenly."
The divorce between Turner and Jonas was finalized by Florida judge Gina Beovides. She also approved a confidential settlement regarding the division of assets, spousal support, and custody of their two daughters. Judge Beovides declared their marriage "irretrievably broken" and stated, "The marriage between the parties is dissolved and the parties are restored to the status of being single."
