The second episode of South Park’s 27th season, titled “Got a Nut,” is yet another testament to the show’s unwavering commitment to provocative satire.
This time, the creators have set their sights on U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, infamous for admitting in her memoir to shooting her own dog.
The animated version of Noem takes the absurdity to new heights, depicted as gleefully massacring dogs during ICE raids — ranging from service animals and angelic hounds to even Crypto, Superman’s loyal canine companion.
The episode culminates in a chaotic zoo store scene where Noem unleashes a full-blown massacre, leaving viewers both shocked and entertained.
But the creators didn’t stop there. An extended epilogue, available on Paramount+, pushes the boundaries further, showing Noem finishing off a puppy that had escaped in the broadcast version. The over-the-top violence and dark humor underscore South Park’s signature style of pushing limits to provoke and amuse.
The reaction was swift. The White House dismissed the show as “a long-irrelevant program desperately seeking attention,” reflecting the administration’s frustration with its unrelenting jabs. Meanwhile, Noem herself took to the radio to fire back, calling the creators “lazy and stupid” for mocking her appearance in the series. Her comments only fueled the fire, giving South Park more ammunition for its biting commentary on political figures.
