"Puberty" and "Squid Game" Dominate Netflix’s Most-Watched Series in First Half of 2025

Netflix’s latest quarterly report has unveiled the streaming giant’s top-performing titles for the first half of 2025, with the coming-of-age drama Puberty and the second season of Squid Game leading the pack.

According to the data, Puberty racked up an impressive 144.8 million views, while Squid Game Season 2 followed closely with 117.3 million views. The third season of the Korean action phenomenon secured the third spot, amassing 72 million views in just four days from June 27 to June 30. On the film front, the action-comedy Back in Action, starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx, topped the charts with a staggering 164.7 million views.

Overall, Netflix reported a total of over 95 billion hours of viewing time, marking a 1% increase compared to the previous year. Financially, the platform continues to thrive, with revenue climbing 16% to $11.1 billion and net income reaching $3.1 billion, surpassing Wall Street expectations. According to Nielsen, Netflix’s audience share grew in June to 8.3%, up nearly 1% from May. However, it still trails behind YouTube, which commands a 12.8% share, posing an increasingly significant challenge for Netflix in the battle for screen time.
