RedMagic 11 Pro Put Flowing Coolant in a Phone—Now REDMAGIC No Longer Sells It

The RedMagic 11 Pro brought visibly circulating coolant to a mass-produced gaming phone when it went on sale globally in November 2025, but REDMAGIC no longer sells the model. A December 2025 Tom’s Guide review recorded the launch timing and strong gaming performance, while finding that fan noise and camera quality remained significant compromises.
The phone’s present status is unambiguous: REDMAGIC’s current product listing marks it out of stock and no longer available, promotes the newer 11S Pro, and preserves the 11 Pro’s global specifications and software-support commitment. The original model is therefore relevant as a technical milestone and a possible used or remaining-stock purchase, not as REDMAGIC’s latest release.
What was genuinely new about the cooling system
“Liquid cooling” was already common smartphone terminology before the 11 Pro appeared. Conventional heat pipes and vapor chambers contain a working fluid that evaporates and condenses as heat moves across a sealed enclosure, but they have no powered loop continuously circulating visible coolant.
The 11 Pro’s AquaCore system added that active circulation to a broader thermal assembly. It used a ceramic micropump to move fluorinated liquid through fine channels, while a vapor chamber, liquid-metal interface material, graphite, an aluminum frame and a 24,000rpm internal fan handled other parts of the heat-transfer path.
The flowing loop was included across the global memory configurations, although its movement was visible only through the transparent Nightfreeze and Subzero rear finishes. The opaque Cryo version retained the cooling hardware without turning it into an exterior design feature.
This distinction also limits how the “world’s first” label should be understood. REDMAGIC positioned the 11 Pro as the first mass-produced phone with flowing liquid cooling, not the first handset containing any liquid-based thermal component. The superlative remains a manufacturer claim rather than an independently certified industry record.
The global model did not have an 8,000mAh battery
The international 11 Pro used a 7,500mAh battery with wired and wireless charging rated at up to 80W. That is the relevant capacity for buyers evaluating the global model; the 8,000mAh figure associated with the Chinese configuration should not be transferred to international specifications.
Its other core hardware included a 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a 2688-by-1216 resolution and refresh rates up to 144Hz. Memory options ranged from 12GB to 24GB of LPDDR5T RAM, while storage ran from 256GB to 1TB. The phone also carried 520Hz capacitive shoulder controls, stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone socket and a physical Game Space key.
The processor was Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, assisted by REDMAGIC’s separate RedCore R4 gaming chip. Qualcomm’s September 2025 platform announcement identified RedMagic and Nubia among the brands adopting the chip and described its new Oryon CPU and Adreno GPU architecture.
An under-display 16-megapixel selfie camera left the gaming screen uninterrupted, but the placement involved a familiar trade-off: light must pass through the display before reaching the sensor. The rear camera system was more conventional, combining two 50-megapixel cameras with a 2-megapixel macro module.
Liquid circulation did not remove every thermal trade-off
The cooling system was designed to spread heat and sustain performance, not to make the handset remain cold under every workload. Extended gaming could still make the chassis warm, and results varied with the game, performance mode, fan setting, ambient temperature and available airflow.
Independent testing nevertheless showed that the complete phone was extremely fast. The tested configuration reached 11,022 in Geekbench 6 multi-core and 40.13 frames per second in 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Unlimited. Those figures belong to that handset configuration under the publication’s test conditions; they should not be attributed solely to the processor or the liquid loop.
The fan added another constraint. Active airflow helped the thermal system move heat out of the chassis, but its noise was readily audible under load. Openings for the air duct also meant that the IPX8 water-resistance rating did not amount to a dust-resistance rating, and REDMAGIC warned that dust could enter the separate duct.
Cameras were the other major compromise. The under-display selfie camera prioritized an unobstructed gaming surface over image quality, while the rear cameras did not match the photographic performance expected from mainstream premium phones. The 11 Pro was consequently a specialized gaming device rather than a balanced flagship that happened to include gaming controls.
What its discontinued status means now
Any remaining 11 Pro purchase now depends on a third-party retailer, leftover inventory or the used market. The important variables are therefore the actual seller warranty, battery condition, regional network compatibility and price—not the original launch positioning.
Software longevity also has a defined ceiling. The policy attached to models beginning with the 11 Pro provides two major Android-version upgrades and three years of security updates measured from the initial global launch date, with timing and frequency potentially varying by region and model. Because that clock began in 2025, a discounted unit should be evaluated against its remaining support period rather than treated like a newly released phone.
The 11 Pro’s lasting significance is narrower but more defensible than the original hype: it turned an active coolant loop into visible, mass-produced smartphone hardware. It did not eliminate heat, fan noise or the compromises of a gaming-first design, and its withdrawal from REDMAGIC’s store has already moved it from current flagship to short-lived technical milestone.
