Meta is diversifying its smart glasses portfolio, building on the success of the Ray-Ban Meta line by introducing versions under the Oakley and Prada brands.

The Oakley edition, set to launch on June 20, 2025, targets active users and athletes. Ray-Ban Meta owners have already been using their glasses for recording activities like tennis and skiing, and Oakley’s inherent sportswear credentials make it a natural fit. Priced at approximately $360, the Oakley glasses offer enhanced weather resistance.

The partnership with Prada marks Meta’s first venture into fashion brands outside the Luxottica ecosystem. The thick frames of Prada glasses provide an ideal structure for housing technical components such as microphones and chips, blending style with functionality.

Since the release of the second-generation Ray-Ban Meta in 2023, 2 million pairs have been sold. Luxottica’s CEO aims to ramp up production to 10 million units by the end of 2026.

The expanded partnership between the companies, valued at $5 billion, grants Meta exclusive rights to Luxottica’s brands for smart glasses over the coming years, signaling a bold move to dominate the wearable tech market.
