"With Love, Meghan," the Netflix lifestyle show produced by and starring Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, intended as a celebration of the laid-back Southern California lifestyle, will not premiere as scheduled this month due to the deadly wildfires ravaging the area, she announced.
"I appreciate my partners at Netflix for their support in postponing the launch, so we can concentrate on aiding those affected by the wildfires in my home state of California," Markle stated on Sunday.
The series is now set to debut on March 4, having been initially planned for release on January 15.
"With Love, Meghan," was captured in Montecito, California, featuring Meghan Markle as she imparts "personal tips and tricks, emphasizing fun over flawlessness, and illustrating how simple it is to bring beauty into even the most unexpected situations," as per Netflix's series description.
Markle, together with Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has been actively involved in wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles. They visited the Pasadena Convention Center on Friday, interacting with first responders and wildfire victims, as reported by Fox 11.
They also had a conversation with José Andrés, the founder of World Central Kitchen (WCK).
LA County Sheriff Robert G. Luna announced during a Sunday press conference that evacuation orders are still in effect for over 105,000 residents, with the death toll from the wildfires reaching at least 16.
The Palisades Fire, now the most devastating in LA County's history, has consumed more than 23,000 acres and was 11% contained by Sunday night, according to Cal Fire. Meanwhile, the Eaton Fire in Altadena, on the East side of Los Angeles, has spread over 14,000 acres and was 27% contained by Sunday evening.
Officials have cautioned that despite some progress, the fire danger will continue to be "very high" due to the return of the dangerous Santa Ana winds early this week.
