Lisa Kudrow disclosed that she recently discovered a note from Matthew Perry inside a "Friends" prop, which he had left for her 20 years ago.
Speaking on "The Drew Barrymore Show" on Tuesday, she explained that Perry had given her the cookie jar from the show's set at the end of their last episode, which aired in 2004.
"I had recently found the note that he had in it for me," Kudrow revealed.
"I hadn’t opened it up or looked inside of it," she added. "But yeah, he did. He had a note in there and I forgot about it."
Kudrow chose not to reveal the contents of the note but responded to host Drew Barrymore's comforting hug by saying, "Timing is everything."
Matthew Perry, who passed away at the age of 54 in his Pacific Palisades home in October 2023, was most recognized for his portrayal of Chandler Bing on "Friends," where he co-starred with Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office autopsy report, Perry's death was due to the "acute effects of ketamine" followed by drowning. He had openly discussed his long battle with substance abuse in the past.
In a heartfelt tribute after his passing, Lisa Kudrow wrote, "Thank you for making me laugh so hard at something you said, that my muscles ached, and tears poured down my face EVERY DAY."
She continued on Instagram, "Thank you for your open heart in a six way relationship that required compromise. And a lot of 'talking.'
Thank you for showing up at work when you weren’t well and then, being completely brilliant. Thank you for the best 10 years a person gets to have."
The topic came up when Barrymore asked if Kudrow had ever taken anything from the set. Kudrow admitted she had but was secretive about what it was, saying, "I’m too afraid to tell you what. I can’t say… I’m afraid… someone will come get it."
