Jeff Bezos has responded to reports suggesting his wedding to Lauren Sánchez would cost him $600 million as an Amazon founder.
One might wonder, just how many guests would you need to invite to justify such an expense?
The rumors about Bezos and Sánchez's wedding surfaced over the weekend when three sources revealed to the Daily Mail that the couple had exclusively reserved a high-end sushi restaurant in Aspen, Colorado for their celebration, which was planned for December 28.

The wedding ceremony was rumored to occur at the lavish Dunbar Ranch, with one source estimating the cost at $600 million.
Considering Bezos's net worth stands at $244 billion, spending $600 million might not seem too extravagant. If you can afford the finest cuisine, flowers, and gifts that money can buy, why hold back?
However, Bezos has now clarified that the details about his wedding are inaccurate.
The 60-year-old billionaire responded to these rumors after a tweet by another billionaire, hedge fund manager Bill Ackman.
Bill Ackman posted a report on Bezos' wedding, commenting, "This is not credible. Unless you're buying each guest a house, you can't spend this much money."
One could speculate that Bezos might indeed be gifting houses to his guests, but Bezos himself has debunked this idea.
Reacting to Ackman's tweet, Bezos responded:
"Furthermore, this whole thing is completely false — none of this is happening. The old adage 'don’t believe everything you read' is even more true today than it ever has been. Now lies can get ALL the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on. So be careful out there folks and don’t be gullible.
"Will be interesting to see if all the outlets that 'covered' and re-reported on this issue issue a correction when it comes and goes and doesn’t happen."

Bezos and Sánchez, who is a journalist and author, went public with their relationship in 2019 and got engaged in May 2023.
