President Donald Trump mercilessly mocked Taylor Swift following her booing at the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl LIX will undoubtedly be remembered as a classic, with the Philadelphia Eagles defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in New Orleans.
Taylor Swift watching on at the Super Bowl
Swift was in town supporting her boyfriend Kelce as his team failed to secure a third consecutive Super Bowl victory.
When the camera focused on Swift and she appeared on the giant screen at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, a significant part of the 75,000-strong crowd began to jeer.
The "Shake It Off" singer seemed to mouth 'What is going on?' to her friend and rapper Ice Spice, who was with her at the game.
Now, Trump, who attended the biggest NFL game of the season, has used his Truth Social account to comment on the booing incident.
The 47th POTUS said: "The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!"
Trump posted a video of himself at the Super Bowl, along with a repost from the 'Libs of TikTok' account claiming 'the world is healing' because he received applause at the event, while Swift was jeered.
Why was Taylor Swift booed at the Super Bowl?
Although the president has shared his perspective, numerous celebrities and fans have turned to X to stand up for Swift.
"I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo!!" former tennis star Serena Williams posted on the social media site.
Hundreds of individuals commented on the post as they watched the events unfold in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9.
Donald Trump has even provided his view on the booing
One fan remarked: "Eagles fans are booing her. She's from the Philly area but clearly supporting Travis and the Chiefs."
Another user noted: "The boos are from Eagles fans, which is the opposite team she supports; this is normal."
Meanwhile, a third wrote: "Grown-ass men booing Taylor Swift, seriously, get a grip."
Given the history between Trump and Swift, his recent comments on Truth Social should not come as much of a surprise.
During his presidential campaign last year, Trump merely wrote: "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!"
His comment followed after the singer encouraged her fans to vote as they see fit, while also revealing that she herself would be voting for the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
