AI-Powered Hitler Running Rampant Online

Hello!
Right-wing extremists are leveraging artificial intelligence to resurrect Adolf Hitler for social media audiences. The AI version of the Third Reich leader is attracting massive attention across online platforms while softening his historical image from “the worst person in history” to “someone simply misunderstood in his time.”

This development is detailed in a study by the nonprofit think tank Institute for Strategic Dialogue, first reported by the Washington Post. The report highlights how this new form of extremist propaganda is rapidly gaining traction online.
AI-Generated Speeches Reach Millions
Using AI tools, Hitler now delivers his speeches in English through audio and video content on platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. Just seven AI-generated videos of Hitler speeches on YouTube, posted in 2026, had received 6.9 million views, according to the report.
Platform algorithms further amplify this material, much like other extremist content that spreads virally. The result is wider exposure without sufficient proactive moderation by the platforms themselves.
Fringe Groups Embrace Accessible Tools
It is not unprecedented for radical actors to use AI for extremist messaging. The terrorist organization Islamic State (IS or ISIS) has already employed the technology to create polished propaganda videos that glorify mass violence and terrorism.

Deepfake tools for video manipulation and voice cloning are now widely available and inexpensive, making them attractive to fringe groups. What sets the current wave of Hitler-related content apart is its viral spread with limited platform intervention.
X Platform Shows Highest Concentration
The report singles out X as particularly saturated with pro-Hitler material: just 11 posts garnered 11.2 million views in a one-week period. Researchers link the surge in such content and its growing popularity to rising antisemitism.
