Varun Venaik’s Experience With Intermittent Fasting

Hello!

Australian organic food enthusiast Varun Venaik has been curious about intermittent fasting for many years, but only introduced it into his routine recently. In a short space of time, Varun has experienced remarkable physical and mental health benefits. In this article, he shares his personal journey with this health approach that continues to gain worldwide attention.
How Intermittent Fasting Works
The concept of intermittent fasting is straightforward: it simply involves not eating for a set period each day or week. There are several methods, and the choice depends on what fits your schedule best. One popular approach is to avoid eating for 14–16 hours between one day’s dinner and the next day’s breakfast.
Varun opted for a slightly different method – skipping lunch on two days a week and consuming only breakfast and dinner on those days. Although it felt challenging at first, the routine quickly became manageable. He soon noticed several positive changes, which he outlines below.
Loss of Body Fat

He found it remarkable that a goal he had pursued for years through targeted abdominal exercises was achieved relatively quickly simply by adjusting his eating habits twice a week. Importantly, he maintained all of his muscle mass, achieving an effective balance between fat loss and muscle retention.
Enhanced Mental Clarity
Improved mental clarity was not a goal Varun initially set out to achieve, yet he was genuinely surprised by the noticeable improvements in focus and memory. One of his initial concerns was that extended periods without food would leave him feeling sluggish or unfocused. Instead, the opposite occurred – his attention and concentration became noticeably sharper.

He had expected the opposite result, so he was pleased this did not happen. During fasting periods, he also became more conscious of his water intake, ensuring he stayed well hydrated to support energy and focus. These improved hydration habits have remained with him long term.
Intermittent fasting is also associated with longer-term benefits, including better heart health and a reduced risk of diabetes and other conditions. As Varun has only recently adopted the practice, he has yet to experience these extended advantages, but he remains optimistic about the ongoing positive impact on his health and wellbeing.
