While the past twelve months have delivered a steady stream of global news, one online behaviour has remained remarkably consistent: the search for adult content.

So, what were people looking for when they wanted to unwind?

For the fourth consecutive year, “hentai” claimed the number-one spot. Related categories also gained ground: “animation” rose 28 percent, “3D” climbed 19 percent, and “realistic animated” surged 78 percent, signalling sustained appetite for animated and fantasy-driven material.

“MILF” reclaimed second place, pushing “Lesbian” down to fourth. “Pinay” took third, followed by “Anal” in fifth and “big ass” in sixth.

Rising Trends and Surprises

“Anime” landed in seventh place, continuing the broader growth in animated content. Other notable risers included “cosplay” and “real amateur,” reflecting a simultaneous desire for both fantasy role-play and authentic, real-life encounters.

Searches for “wife” increased 12 percent, which Pornhub attributes to the growing visibility of “Pornhub Wives” creators. More values-driven queries also gained traction: “ethical porn” jumped 92 percent and “respectful sex” rose 61 percent.

Most-Searched Performers

Angela White was the most-searched performer of 2024, followed by Abella Danger in second and Violet Myers in third.

User Demographics and Age-Based Preferences

The average Pornhub visitor in 2024 was 38 years old. The 18–24 age group accounted for 27 percent of traffic, while 25–34-year-olds contributed 24 percent. Combined, users aged 18–35 still represent more than half of all visits, although the share declined by two percentage points as older demographics grew.

Search preferences varied noticeably by age:

• 18–24: vertical video, hentai, gaming
• 25–34: FMM, tattooed women, parody
• Gen X (35–53): compilations, role play, feet
• Boomers (55+): strap-ons, gangbangs, double penetration
