Google has rolled out two major updates for its Translate mobile app.
The new "Live Translate" mode enables conversations in over 70 languages, delivering near-real-time speech translation with on-screen text. Powered by Gemini models, it adeptly handles pauses, accents, and background noise. Available now on iOS and Android in the U.S., India, and Mexico.
The second update introduces a pilot language practice feature, offering personalized listening and speaking exercises tailored to users’ levels and goals. The beta version is free and initially supports several language pairs.
