Officials later determined the ooze to be a "nonhazardous" mix of borax, lye, and green dye.\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>Local resident Mike Hedblom made the unusual discovery during an evening walk. A video he shared on social media shows a fluorescent green stream running along a roadway.\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>"At that point, I didn’t know what it was," he told \u003Cem>SFGate\u003C/em>. "But I didn’t think it was right."\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Ch4>\u003Cstrong>Coolant Leak\u003C/strong>\u003C/h4>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003Cpicture class=\"image-align-left\">\u003Csource srcset=\"https://cdn.quasa.io/photos/photo/30_10/tesla.webp\" type=\"image/webp\">\u003Cimg alt=\"Green Ooze Gushing Out of Tesla Headquarters\" class=\"image-align-left\" height=\"169\" src=\"https://cdn.quasa.io/photos/photo/30_10/tesla.jpeg\" width=\"300\" />\u003C/picture>Tesla employees quickly came out of the nearby engineering headquarters with absorbent pads to clean up the mess. One worker told Hedblom that it was liquid coolant.\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>As detailed in a report by the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, the green ooze was "used for the chiller system to cool the Tesla Artificial Intelligence Supercomputer."\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>"The Palo Alto Fire Department recovered approximately 550 gallons of the mixture from the storm drain," the report reads.
