However, it's expected to take decades to complete.\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>Oh, and the expected cost would be immense - estimates coming in at $19.8 trillion.\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>Although, potentially not if Musk has anything to do with it.\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Ch4>\u003Cstrong>Elon Musk's alternative suggestion\u003C/strong>\u003C/h4>\n\n\u003Cp>Well, not \u003Ca href=\"https://quasa.io/media/elon-musk-just-got-absolutely-owned\">Musk \u003C/a>specifically but another company who he's suggested may be up for the job\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>The \u003Ca href=\"https://quasa.io/media/tesla-has-secretly-been-testing-robotaxis\">Tesla\u003C/a> CEO took to Twitter on December 10 to respond to a report about the proposed tunnel.\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>He wrote: "The @boringcompany could do it for 1000X less money."\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>But what is The Boring Company and what's it got to do with tunnel plans?\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Ch4>\u003Cstrong>The Boring Company\u003C/strong>\u003C/h4>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003Cpicture class=\"image-align-left\">\u003Csource srcset=\"https://cdn.quasa.io/photos/photo/12_12/musk2.webp\" type=\"image/webp\">\u003Cimg alt=\"Elon Musk has alternative solution to ,000,000,000,000 tunnel that would get you from NYC to London in 54 minutes\" class=\"image-align-left\" height=\"200\" src=\"https://cdn.quasa.io/photos/photo/12_12/musk2.jpg\" width=\"300\" />\u003C/picture>According to its website, The Boring Company 'constructs safe, fast-to-dig, and low-cost transportation, utility, and freight tunnels' - so it clearly knows a thing or two on the topic and it already has several tunnels under it's belt as well.\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>It's projects include the LVCC Loop, Resorts World Connector, Vegas Loop, R&D Tunnel and Hyperloop with several already having been successfully constructed.\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>One successful construction is the LVCC Loop, The Boring Company detailing: "The LVCC Loop system - a three-station transportation system consisting of 1.7 miles of tunnel - was built in approximately one year (using the now-legacy Godot Tunnel Boring Machine)."\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>The project reportedly cost around $47 million for the 'two tunnels and three stations' and construction even managed to avoid any road closures or 'attendee disturbances'.\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>"LVCC Loop connects the LVCC New Exhibit Hall with the existing campus (North/Central/SouthHalls), and reduces a 45 minute cross-campus walk time to approximately two minutes," it adds.\u003C/p>\n\n\u003Cp>1.7 miles of tunnel versus 3,400 miles from London to New York - potato, potato.
